Youth Parliament of Pakistan organized a “Sensitization Session” in Punjab University, on 13th October 2011..

The purpose of this session was to educate students about “Democratic Citizenship” and their right and responsibility to vote as a citizen of this country. For this purpose, YPP set up a stall with information brochures, put posters of the project all over the “Mass Communication” department and provided students with the contact numbers of Election Commission of Pakistan in order to get them registered. In addition, the Chairman of YPP, Mr. Abrar-ul-Haq addressed around 150-200 students and encouraged them to register their votes and to vote in the coming elections to bring a positive change to the country. Some senior professors of the “Mass Communication” department also made encouraging speeches, in this regard. Furthermore, Mr Abrar-ul-Haq launched his new song “Chalo Chalo Vote Banao,” created especially for the voter registration campaign. The event was a success as many students realized the power of their vote and took the necessary steps to register their vote.
